Knock knock...

Yesterday I had a surprise visit from Australian Air Express, the courier delivered me my visa! That has to be record time to receive it in!? I'm not complaining though, that's finally the last piece of paperwork done - now I can pick up my plane tickets and count down the days left (30 for anyone who's interested).

Next on my to do list is buy my Ipod (I'm thinking the video 30gB model?) and laptop!

This is the British High Commission calling...

Oh my god.

I mucked up my visa application! I was woken this morning by a call from Canberra to say that I hadn't included the birth certificate of my mother (I'm getting an ancestry visa as her parents are British citizens)! I totally panicked, but the lady on the phone was great and told me to get down to the post office and send it in using Express Post Platinum. $12 later...and its on its way. I can't believe I messed it up, I checked my paperwork and application SO many times and then even got my Mum to check it and it still was missed out. At least I know they had looked at my application already, so I know I'll get it back in time. What a nice wake up call!

Not in London yet...

With just over 5 weeks until I move to London, my Mum decided that I should have my own blog so that people can see what I'm up to while living overseas (or more likely, so she can try and keep tabs on me! Haha). Thanks very much Rikki and Frances for the inspiration!

Posted off my visa yesterday as the cranky travel agent wouldn't let me book and finalise my airfare till she sees the document ($230 later and its on its way to Canberra). So at this stage I have a deposit on my ticket, but that's all. One way tickets are a lot stricter as I've found out...
