Winter wonderland

Sorry it has taken me so long to write another post! I honestly can't believe November is pretty much over already and Christmas is around the corner...although London is in full swing for the holiday season.

I'm actually really looking forward to the build up to Christmas this year (even though I will miss friends & family), because its so different to home. Its wintery & cold, there are real (proper!) Christmas trees, the Christmas lights in and around the city are stunning and the ice skating rinks are beginning to open. I am going to Hampton Court Palace in a few weekends to an outdoor skating rink (I love ice skating!) with my flatmates. Also planning an outing next week to photograph some of the Christmas lights in Trafalgar Square, Oxford Circus and Sloane Square. We even have some cute little Christmas trees on the tops of light poles in Fulham!

In other news, look out New York! I have booked and paid for my ticket to NYC with Virgin Atlantic in January. I'll be there for 8 days and will get a chance to catch up with Katie in that time which is even better. My list of things to do and see is already ridiculously long, plus the Christmas decorations will still be up, including the massive tree in Rockerfellar Plaza where there is an outdoor skating rink (yes, I will be skating there as well!).

As I was saying, winter has definitely hit London. Apparently the temperatures are still quite mild (I have to say its quite nice!) compared to previous years and there hasn't been a lot of rain, which is good. Still, it can be a tad depressing to go to work in the dark and leave work in the dark! But then there's all the scarves, hats, boots, gloves & coats you can wear here which you would never take out of the wardrobe at home. I love winter shopping!
